My husband Chad has been at it again, welding together unwanted metal pieces he found laying around the house to create one-of-a-kind garden art. This time, he created a gnome, whose job it is to encircle his arms around my peony plant, which falls over every year under the weight of its heavy blossoms. See Chad’s last garden art creation here.
Do you recognize some of the metal pieces? Maybe you can tell that the ears were crescent wrenches, and the arms and legs were legs from a coffee table. Most of it was cut out of sheets of scrap steel. The nose is a charger used for making carbonated water.
The gnome, whose name is Scott (its name is stamped on its belt), is a great example of recycling and DIY budget décor. It didn’t cost a thing to make. Thanks, honey.
