Can getting organized make you happier?

by respaced on June 29, 2010

The Happiness Project blog posted a great interview with Mark Frauenfelder on the ways he has found happiness. What was key for him?

“We hired a person to help us organize our house. Clutter causes stress and getting rid of clutter is liberating!”

I love this quote, because it seems to imply that your unhappiness may be less about what’s missing in your life and more about what’s weighing you down.

Gretchen Rubin, author of the best-selling book, The Happiness Project, maintains the site with the same name. Her book chronicles her year trying to figure out the secret of happiness, using the information from various studies and theories as her guide.

Check out her blog when you get a chance. It’s absolutely fascinating, and I know you will be able to glean at least a few tips to up the happiness factor in your own life.
