Last summer, I was the lucky recipient of a free, antique pew from my church. It is beautiful, in great shape and fits perfectly along our patio wall outside. Free is a pretty good price too. Since then, I have tried to find other pews for clients and friends, and while my church is no longer giving them away, I have found a good selection on the website http://www.usedpews.org/.
On this site, you can search for used pews by state. Once you find what you want, you can call or email the church at the posted phone number and email address. Then you can drive out to the chuch and view the merchandise before you buy, a la Craigslist. Pews are reasonably priced at $65-150.
Church pews can also work inside. I like to line one up along a hallway wall and store shoes underneath and coats on hooks up above. Then you have the perfect place to sit and put shoes on in the morning. If you’re looking for an interesting piece of furniture at a great price, an antique pew might be just the thing!
