My favorite paint company, Sherwin Williams, came out with their color forecast for 2010. These are the paint colors they think will be the trendy choices in home décor for next year.
What I immediately noticed are the shades of corals, grays and deep blues featured predominantly. Missing are pinks, purples (although red-violet is present), and pastels, with the exception of butter yellow. Overall, the colors have a vintage, aged, and vibrant feel.
My favorite? A plumy gray hue with a touch of brown called Enigma (it’s the color in the image, depending on how well your monitor translates color!). It’s the color of river rock underwater, and perfectly coordinates with the muted colors of the Pacific Northwest.

I'm liking that Enigma. Although I'm done painting any more rooms in our house!
Yeah, I know what you mean. Do I have any rooms left I haven't painted, which could handle a color that intense? Not at the moment. But I think I will find SOMETHING to paint that color.
What's so funny is that I picked out Enigma a while back to paint our bedroom once my husband installs the wainscoting in there. It's a gorgeous color and I can't wait to see it in the room. I felt that it was a bit purply, almost a dark, grayish lavender. It's a bit dark but with the cream wainscoting I think it will be lovely.
