It was my birthday last week. But it was also reSPACEd’s birthday last week — reSPACEd turned 11 years old!
When I started my business back in 2008, the recession hadn’t hit Portland yet, so work was steady and all signs pointed to a bright future. Then, Portland finally started feeling the effects about 2009 and things came to a screaming halt. And it was a long, slow slog of many years to build reSPACEd back up. SO.MUCH.WORK.
But 11 years later, business is great! We work on about 10-14 organizing projects at any one time, I get to meet so many interesting clients and step into their lives for a few hours a week, I get to employ two dear friends, and I have my super close-knit NAPO-Oregon network of about 40 other pro organizers in the Portland Metro area with whom I learn, laugh and grow.
So thank you to all of those clients and all of you readers who have stuck with me throughout the years, referred me to their friends, recommended me on Facebook, and kept in touch to let me know how they’re doing. This dream job wouldn’t be possible without you.
