We are hiring for a professional home organizer!

August 28, 2023 by respaced

We are hiring! I am looking to hire another professional home organizer to see clients in 1-4 sessions a week in the Portland Metro area. This works out to being 3-16 hours a week. I am looking for organizers who want a part-time job, not organizers who are interested in eventually starting their own business or seeing their own clients on the side. We focus on working alongside folks with ADHD and other brain-based conditions to create functional and lovely spaces for them. We are not focused on creating Instagram-perfect spaces like the Home Edit. If you are interested, please email me your resume and cover letter to info@respacedpdx.com. Thank you!

Responsibilities

  • Sorting, categorizing, unpacking, coaching the client, transporting donations
  • Creating new organizing systems based on current organizing trends, available organizing products in local stores, and the clients’ needs and preferences

You

  • Are a highly compassionate, kind, patient and caring person.
  • Make friends easily and have a warmth about you that sets other people at ease.
  • Maintain professional boundaries.
  • Take responsibility for your words, your actions, and your work.
  • Are thoughtful, reflective, and self-aware.
  • Are a hard worker who doesn’t mind rolling up your sleeves and getting dirty and sweaty when required.
  • Are non-judgmental, accepting, and able to maintain neutral facial expressions.
  • Value diversity.
  • Appreciate opportunities for professional development and continued learning.
  • Are punctual, dependable, and reliable.
  • Have an eagle-eye for detail and value attractive organizing systems
  • Are able to see what needs to be done and self-initiate.

Requirements

  • Ability to stand for 8 hours, lift 25 lbs, and navigate stairs.
  • Have a bachelor’s degree
  • Open-minded and non-judgmental toward clients with mental health and organization challenges
  • Happy to work with a wide variety of people, personalities and lifestyles
  • Strong communication skills and quickly responsive to texts, calls and emails
  • Interested and willing to stay informed of current organizing trends
  • Proficiency in Google Suite
  • Own a car and the ability to drop off donations for clients.
  • Non-smoking
  • Willing to sign a non-compete and non-solicit agreement

Pay is $18/hour while training and $23/hour upon completion of training.
