Wall pockets — We generally don’t recommend these, because we have frequently seen so many problems with them:
Problem #1: The solid ones allow envelopes and little pieces of paper to hide down inside, so you end up losing things in them.
Problem #2: The wall pockets are often mounted too close together, so it’s hard to retrieve papers/magazines out of them. You scrape your knuckles trying to shove a magazine down inside.
Problem #3: They are often poorly designed and not wide enough to accommodate file folders or things in manila envelopes.
Problem #4: People don’t make the time to regularly sort through the papers, so wall pockets end up becoming vertical clutter. This might be the BIGGEST problem we see with them!
Wall pockets CAN work if you:
**Use clear or wire wall pockets.
**Source extra wide ones and mount them several inches apart NO HIGHER than eye level.
**Set aside 15 minutes 1x/week to go through the papers in them.
Do you use wall pockets successfully? If so, let us know how you made them work for you!
