If you are planning a big organizing project this year, JANUARY is the best time to do it because that’s when all the organizing products go on sale at the big box stores! I think this is because they are capitalizing on all of the people who make New Year’s resolutions to get organized.
Some of our usual go-to stores for buying new organizing products, like Ikea and The Container Store, are still experiencing frequent supply shortages and long delivery times. So we have been choosing to shop at stores nearby with multiple locations, so if one store is short on product, we can drive to their next closest location. Target, Fred Meyer, Home Depot and Lowe’s fit the bill here. (In the picture above, almost everything featured is from Target.)
Of course our preference when it comes to organizing containers is to use what the client always has. Whenever we start a new project with clients, we always set aside any organizing products we find in their house into a big pile we like to call “Binland.” Like Finland, but … not. This way, we have a ready supply on hand when it comes time to create new homes for things.
