What happens to your unwanted items

September 27, 2021 by respaced

While we are working with you at your house, we will use your trash and recycling bins. We are happy to take away your unwanted things that are in good condition to a charity at no additional cost. I leave it up to each organizer to decide which charity she will take your things to.

Unfortunately, we have no way to take your trash items to the dump. But if you live in the Portland Metro area, you can leave your extra bags of trash out on the curb on garbage pickup day, and the city will come pick them up for a small fee (usually about $6 per bag). If you have larger things to dispose of, like furniture or mattresses, you can call your garbage hauling service to arrange to have those items picked up on garbage collection day too.

Some of our clients get a great deal of satisfaction out of posting their unwanted things on their local Buy Nothing Group on Facebook. We are happy to work with you during your session to get those items photographed and posted.

We do not take away client items for consignment, nor do we have a way to sell them on the client’s behalf.

Ready to get started on your organizing project? We would love to lend a hand!
