7 ways to organize kids’ outdoor toys

June 25, 2012 by respaced

Summer is here, which means your kids are probably spending more time playing outside. Make sure their outdoor toys are accessible and easy to put away by using one of these organizational methods:

Triple Utility Storage Bin @ Storables for $49.95. Perfect for separating the beach toys from the sports equipment! This unit also features removable bags and caster wheels for easy access.
Silver Mesh Rolling Bin @ The Container Store for $49. I love how the rollers on this bin allow it to easily slide underneath your shelves in the garage. Little hands can easily pull the bin out to grab what they need. No need to worry about a heavy bin falling off a shelf.
Elfa Utility Mesh Storage Bag @ The Container Store for $29.99. This bag can be screwed directly into the wall to hold all of your children's balls or other sporting equipment. Get another bag to hold the beach toys. The slit in the side of the bag means your children don't have to get a step stool or empty the entire bag to get the toy they want.
Sports Bench Organizer @ Organizeit.com for $73.99. Place this bench by the back door so the kids have a place to take off their shoes and stash their toys before coming in the house. The top flips up to allow for easy access to their outdoor toys.
Tubtrug @ Organizeit.com for $15.99. These indestructible tubs are perfect for storing kids' toys in the garage. Get a few tubs in different colors to separate the toys out by type (eg. beach toys, sports toys, water and pool toys).
Racor Ball/Bat Storage Rack @ Organize.com for $41.49. Baseball bats can hang off the side of the rack while small toys or balls can fill the mesh bag that comes with the rack. Big toys or balls fit inside the rack itself and are retrievable through the bungee cords in front. Mount this to the wall in your garage to save floor space.
Kids 3-Tier Stacking Bin Set @ Organize.com for $28.49. The image shows the bin inside a bedroom, but this unit would also work well out in the garage. Toys are within easy reach of young children and can be divided by type. Sand and dirt from toys falls right through the slats, making for easy clean-up.
