What’s the one thing that everybody has too many of, but is just TOO HARD to let go of? Answer: Kids’ school pictures!
I finally hit on a solution (note: this took me a long time to figure out. My son is in sixth grade!) I found this frame at Target that is more of a shadowbox with a line mounted to the inside of the framer holding four clips. I pulled one photo of my son from each school year and clipped them to the frame. I didn’t have enough of the clips, so I had to add a tiny binder clip.
Voila! Instant timeline from chubby-cheeked early grades to toothy-grinned late grade school. (And yes, my son did go through a period of secretly dressing up in his Halloween costume for school picture day for a few years. So that’s him dressed as Marty McFly, Doctor Who and Indiana Jones. :))
And now, I am being a brave mama and THROWING AWAY the rest of the school photos that came home from the school in the envelope. Because really, what am I going to do with half a dozen 2×3 photos of him from three years ago? The answer is nothing. So into the trash they go. That was hard for me, but all I have to do is look at this cutie pie picture frame and realize that it’s so much better to have ONE picture of him from third grade up on display then 10 similar pics all crammed in an envelope in a pile. I love how this turned out!
If you are looking for a similar photo frame, try this one from Target for $19.
And if you want me to help you make a similar frame for your child’s school photos or hold your hand while you throw the extra ones away, you can contact me here. We can do this together!
