This will literally save your sanity. Get a compartamentalized basket and put it by the front door. Write each family member’s name on a label (here, I diverge from the photo where they have labeled the object instead of the person) and assign everyone their own compartment with the instruction that they drop those essentials in their compartment as soon as they walk in the door.
