We are looking to hire another professional organizer!

We seek a part-time professional organizer for at least 12 hours a week in 4-5 hour chunks of time in a varied schedule between the hours of 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Occasionally, weeks may have fewer than 12 hours, depending on the time of year. Availability on at least one weekend day is a must. Pay is $15-25/hour depending on experience.

Who we are

ReSPACEd is a professional organizing and unpacking company that has been serving clients in the Portland Metro area since 2008. We work in homes and businesses, solving all level of organizing problems from deep, chronic clutter issues to creating Instagram-worthy organized spaces. Our clients range in age from 6 to 86, are often neurodiverse, and live in all kinds of housing and in a variety of lifestyles all over the Metro area.

Job Description

Drive to clients’ homes and work alongside them in 3-5 hour chunks of time.

Help them sort through their belongings and guide them through the decision-making process about what to keep or discard.

Categorize items and create custom organizing solutions for what they want to keep.

Make recommendations and/or source organizing products for them to buy.

Teach organizing skills to clients and work with them to devise simple maintenance plans.

Requirements

Own your own car and be willing to drive one carload of donations to Goodwill after each session.

Experience working with neurodiverse people (those with ADHD, autism, OCD, depression, anxiety) a plus.

College degree preferred.

Ability to stand for several hours, lift 25 pounds and navigate stairs while carrying boxes.

Positive experience with customer service.

You are

Extremely punctual and reliable. Others can depend on you and you always keep your word. You return texts the same day and email within 24 hours.

Honest and trust-worthy.

Treat people with dignity, respect and compassion.

Discrete. Confidentiality is essential in our industry.

Empathic and excellent at “reading the room.” You know what someone is feeling without them telling you.

Non-judgmental and able to keep neutral facial expressions.

Comfortable working in the homes of other people, whose values, practices and standards might be different than your own.

Happy to do hard work in sometimes grimy environments.

Are willing to adhere to all Covid precautions, including wearing a mask and gloves at all times.

Love looking at organized spaces on Instagram and are up on the latest trends in organizing. You have an opinion on all the popular organizing gurus and techniques.

Have a sharp eye for detail and are careful about how things look, yet you are not obsessive about perfection.
