Help for the chronically late, behind schedule and stressed out

July 23, 2010 by respaced

Do you lose track of time when you are working intently on something? Do you often find yourself running late? Are you stressed out because you are always running behind? Then you might find the Time Timer a handy gizmo for keeping you punctual.

I’ll admit: At first I found this clock extremely confusing. It looks like it runs backwards! But then I realized that’s the genius of this product. It tells you how much time you have left to complete your task or project. Everything that is in red is the time you have left. As the section of red gets smaller, your time frame shrinks. You can set an alarm to go off when your time is up. Pretty smart, huh?

The Time Timer comes in various sizes, from wall size to wristwatch size. You can even get it for your computer desktop, perfect for those of you who lose track of time while surfing online. And it is reasonably priced at $35 for the 8″ size.

If you buy a Time Timer or already use one, let me know in the comments section. I’d love to hear how it works for you.

As a teacher, I use the Time Timer frequently in my classroom. It helps teach the students how to manage their time. At a quick glance, they kow how soon they need to finish an assignment. It really keeps them on task. If I forget to set it, the students will remind me, because they appreciate the information it gives them. Substitutes who have used it think it's brilliant too.

That's great, Pam. I can really see how a Time Timer would be useful in a classroom.
